committees, commissions, boards

Examination Committee:

For both Master's and Bachelor's programs. The examination board is responsible for ensuring that the regulations of the examination rules are followed. It decides on all matters concerning the examination process and has the right to be present at examinations. They meet when there are applications (e.g., objection to exmatriculation) and discuss the respective case. (Psychology only; 2 members, 2 deputies for Bachelor’s and Master’s).

Student Council:

Memebers of the student council are elected by all students. They meet once a month in the so called student council conference (FSK) and discuss various topics. This includes for example different events at the university that concern the studyability of the students. Information on university politics and opportunities for student engagement is also presented at the FSK. Another important point is discussing applications that the student council can submit, e.g. the funding for events. The FSK is also a good opportunity to collaborate with other student governments of the university.

Department Council:

The student representation of the faculty council is also elected by students. However, the councils only meet once every three months in their own faculty and discuss the developments there with the dean and other staff of the faculty (professors, academic and administrative staff).

Commission on the Quality of Study Conditions and Teaching (QSL):

Distribute the budget allocated to the department to cover extra expenses that ensure the quality of teaching (ExPra, for example, is financed through this). Meetings take place once a year. Here the committee then votes on the applications submitted (with the sports science; 4 members, 4 representatives).

Teaching and Study Committee:

The Teaching and Study Committee advises on all fundamental questions in the field of studies and teaching and prepares draft resolutions for the Faculty Council. Topics covered include, among others: introduction and further development of degree programs, curricular adjustments of study regulations, and the establishment of new teaching formats (together with Sports Science; 3 members, 3 deputies).

Joint Commission for the Humanities:

Responsible for the issuance, amendment, and repeal of, the implementation of the school internship (School Internship Regulations), intermediate examination regulations for the master's programs and programs that prepare for the first state examination for teaching at gymnasiums, regulations for the master's examination, doctoral regulations, regulation of representation at the Philosophical Faculty Day, status of the Academic Examination Office for Humanities (together with Sports Science; 1 member, 1 deputy).

Doctoral committees (Dr. rer. nat. und Dr. Phil.):

The doctoral committee decides on the admission to the doctoral procedure and on the acceptance of doctoral candidates (together with the sports sciences; 1 member, 1 deputy).

Internship Committee:

Co-determination on what an internship should look like. Currently few possibilities for change (only psychology; 3 members, 3 representatives).
